These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Fishing Codex (the "app"). By installing, opening, or using Fishing Codex you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Fishing Codex is provided by FISHINGCODEX LIMITED, a New Zealand limited company (NZBN 9429053662774, registered with the NZ Companies Office) ("the operator", "we", "us"). Contact: hello@fishingcodex.com.
Account creation is optional. Without an account the app runs entirely offline on your device. With an account (via Sign in with Apple) your data syncs to our private cloud and you can access it from other devices that you sign in to.
You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure. We have no ability to recover an Apple ID for you.

You retain ownership of the spots, notes, and photos you create in the app. By using the cloud sync feature you grant the developer a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process your content for the sole purpose of providing the app's sync functionality across your devices. The developer does not claim any other rights to your content and will not use it for any other purpose.
Fishing Codex is a record-keeping tool. It is not a substitute for proper marine navigation, tide tables, weather forecasts, fishing licences, or local regulations. Do not rely on Fishing Codex for safety-critical decisions on the water. The map data, GPS accuracy, and any derived information may contain errors. Always use appropriate marine charts, certified GPS devices, and follow regional fishing regulations.
The app's offline features (local storage, photo capture, map display via cached tiles) work without internet. Cloud sync, Sign in with Apple, and photo upload require connectivity. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service for the cloud features.
You may terminate at any time by deleting the app or using Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account. The developer may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or pose a legal risk.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FISHINGCODEX LIMITED shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue arising out of or in connection with your use of the app. The total liability of FISHINGCODEX LIMITED for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app (which is zero unless a paid feature exists).
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
